In 2003, we set out to develop the next generation of cooling products. Understanding that there are basically three viable means of cooling air: 1) refrigeration cycles such as vapor compression, vapor absorption, and gas cycle; 2) free cooling; and 3) evaporative cooling, the team selected to explore the evaporative cooling process as it was a category that had not experienced meaningful innovation for the past 50 years.
Our product development team searched the globe and discovered an atomization technology originally applied in nebulizers, which are devices that produce an ultra-fine mist from liquid. Patients with COPD disorders such as emphysema, bronchitis, and asthma, for example, use nebulizer technology to inhale medication.
The atomization technology, called Flow Blurring, allowed the team to develop highly efficient and effective evaporative air coolers. Evaporative cooling is a natural process that leverages one of the most basic principles of environmental science and is the source for a good portion of the earth’s own natural cooling.
In 2006, AURAMIST was born to bring this revolutionary evaporative air cooling technology to market.
Then in 2015, with more than 8 years of product development and commercialization experience, several key investments were made:
- We changed the company name to CULER to communicate the benefit of our products.
- We launched our next generation of Professional Flash-Evaporative Air Coolers – the XC series
- We developed and launched our CULER Home models – SOLO and DUET
- We moved all our manufacturing from China to the USA.
CULER flash-evaporative air coolers can be used indoors, outdoors, and on-the-go; in professional applications; and at home. In fact, it was our professional users that inspired us to design smaller, more portable evaporative coolers for home & office use. User insights have inspired our innovation, from design to production. Moving our manufacturing from China to the United States empowered our team to react quickly to market and user feedback.
Although the form of our flash-evaporative coolers has changed over the years, our mission remains the same: Use our patented technologies to build the most efficient and effective air cooling solutions to create safer, more productive, and more comfortable environments.
